I’m New Here

Our style of worship is simple, patterned after the teaching and example of the Christians in the New Testament. You can look forward to songs of praise – A cappella (or vocal music). It is meaningful and uplifting because it emphasizes the words and the beauty of the human voice. Additionally, there will be prayers, giving, the Lord’s Supper, and a thought-provoking and engaging message based on biblical teaching.

YES! Our transportation ministry is available to provide a way for you to come to services. If you need a ride on Sunday morning or Wednesday evening, please contact Bro. Sterling & Sis. Joyce Harris at (518) 577-9635.

The Bible doesn’t provide us a detailed dress code for church. In fact, there is hardly anything said in the New Testament about the issue. at Jackson Street, we have no dress code and invite you to wear whatever you are comfortable in. You will see members wearing a variety of clothing styles. Don’t worry about dress or let that deter you from worshipping with us! The only request we have is that you dress modestly. 1 Timothy 2:8-9. ”I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling; likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control.”

Typically, Sunday morning bible classes begin at 8:45 AM CST and lasts for about forty-five minutes to an hour. Sunday morning worship begins at 10:00 AM CST and run time averages about an hour and a half. On Wednesday evenings, devotion begins at 6:30 PM CST and lasts for about thirty minutes, with bible study following immediately after and running for about one hour.

Absolutely! We offer age appropriate spiritual instruction for our little ones during regular meeting times. In addition, we also have a nursery available in the education wing of the building, as well as cry rooms located in the back of the sanctuary.

Our auditorium is very spacious with additional seating available in our balcony. There are no reserved seats, so you may sit anywhere you’d like.

More than likely, you will not be the only visitor in attendance and we are always pleased to have new visitors choosing to worship with us! Normally, one of our ministers will take a moment before the sermon to ask visitors to stand. This is only done so members of the congregation can shake your hand and make you feel welcome! However, you are not obligated to stand and you will never be singled out or embarrassed in any way. If you would like to fill out a visitor’s card, we’d be honored to have a record of your attendance. Still, you do not have to register or sign your name to anything if you do not want to.

If you have any questions or concerns about a message from the pulpit or the way our services are conducted, we pride ourselves on giving you a bible-based answer for a bible-based question. You are more than welcome to ask one of our ministers or one of our elders any questions you may have. Additionally, you can also email info@jacksonst.org and one of our outreach/evangelism team members will get back to you shortly.

We understand that church shootings across the nation have heightened the anxiety and safety concerns of many individuals. Jackson Street is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all participants. Although we don’t anticipate any serious threats to our environment, as a safety precaution, we do have armed security officers patrolling the building and grounds during all of our gathering times.

Thanks to the diligence of our technology team, visitors are able to secure a FREE copy of the sermon after any attended service. Please stop by the welcome center in the lobby of the church building and one our greeters will be more than happy to assist you.

Our members give free-will offerings every Sunday to support the
ministries of our church. Visitors and guests are not expected to give anything unless they
wish to. Usually, the contribution plates are passed after the shepherd’s prayer, prior to communion.
